CHALLENGE
A state government needed IT staff augmentation services. They had a staff of existing contractors but needed help to identify a new pool of consultants to help raise the bar and execute on some key initiatives. The State was especially interested in increasing resource effectiveness, reducing time to fill key roles, and decreasing cost. Some of these key initiatives included a cloud migration, COVID-19 vaccine rollout, blockchain project, and a rollout of an entitlement benefits program to eligible state residents.
APPROACH
QCG partnered with a newly implemented Managed Services Provider to dive in and understand the project and resource needs. In partnering with our MSP Program Lead, we were able to listen in on manager intake calls which allowed us to align our recruiting efforts correctly to what the manager was targeting.
We leveraged our existing knowledge of the local market and built upon our understanding of the internal culture and hiring habits of the state.
We applied our thorough vetting process and our detailed client delivery model to recruit and submit high-quality local talent that had previously been untapped by pre-existing recruiting strategies.
We applied analytics to tailor processes such as:
• Identifying well-qualified candidates for requisitions in order to fill them quickly, resulting in low turnover and performance issues.
• Streamling submittals resulting in quick turnaround of resumes and right-to-represent
• Interview coordination and scheduling
• Offering facilitation and effective negotiation
IMPACT
We were able to scale our footprint 100% year over year for the past 3 years.
After 3 years, Queen is now employing 20% of the consultants at the State across multiple agencies.
Our effective staffing methodology has resulted in excellent feedback from the IT leadership at the State as well as our MSP partner.
